Welcome - this section is related to my women's clinic - and deals with pregnancy, gynaecology fertility and IVF support.
Women generally come to me for treatment because they have:
- A gynaecological condition and seek a viable complementary medicine that will help where the Western Medical approach has not.
- Fertility problems explained or unexplained and require acupuncture diagnosis and treatment to address the root of the underlying condition.
- IVF and Assisted Conception and want emotional support, stress reduction and to increase the chances of their success.
- Pregnancy problems or they wish to minimise the chances of a medicalised birth.
I gained my degree at the College of Traditional Acupuncture, now in Hatton and am a member of the British Acupuncture Council. I have undertaken advanced post graduate study with Zita West, Sarah Budd and Debra Betts, all national and international leading practitioners in this special field. I am fully committed to an on going course of professional development in the area of fertility and obstetric acupuncture.
I hold a postgraduate certificate in obstetric acupuncture, issued in conjunction with the Royal College of Midwives. Also a postgraduate certificate in fertility acupuncture issued in conjunction with the Royal College of Physicians.
Given the increased visibility of acupuncture in Womens Health, especially in the area of fertility and obstetrics, I
feel that it is important that women can have greater access to acupuncture, and be confident that they have chosen a practitioner who not only has a special interest to help them, but has invested in a high standard of postgraduate training to meet their patients' needs. This is why myself and a colleague have co-founded Infant Door, an acupuncture team for Childbirth and Fertility serving Coventry and Warwickshire. The team will hopefully be brought together in full in 2007 and will be affiliated to the ACT (Acupuncture Childbirth Team).
